Revive your past, to give you the edge in the future

Looking for permission to do something new, can begin with a look in the past.

Nothing beats heritage and an origins story of course, so why keep these all locked away, when you can utilise them to power your brand forward?

Here’s three examples of brands who’ve unlocked theirs to give themselves product campaigns with a new edge.

1. Oakley: Born on the dirt tracks

Before eyewear came into view, a motorcycle grip blazed the trail for Oakley. Who da’ thought?

This past has been celebrated today with the ‘Our Origins Ride With Us’ campaign.

It puts the spotlight on the brand’s Airbrake MX goggles, it also stands as a celebration of their relentless drive for innovation and rich heritage in the world of motocross.

2. The North Face: Return of an icon

How do you celebrate 30 years of grit and innovation?

Take The North Face’ lead, they brought back their iconic Himalayan Parka to celebrate just that.

First launched in 1994, it became the ultimate symbol of toughness for climbers. And now, three decades later, it’s back with a fresh twist, blending the brand’s rich legacy with a bold new style for a bold new era.

3. Stone Island: Merge the past with the present

Stone Island’s Prototype Research Series might be all about breaking new ground, but it’s a project that looks to the past for inspiration. And their Series_08 project is testiment to that.

Dubbed the Multiaxial Project, Stone Island’s eighth presentation of the project  pays homage to their first ever collection from 1982.

Merging the past with the present by partnering with three industrial partners to create an experimental material and using it to reimagine an iconic cape from 1982.
