Stories Move Mountains 🏔️

Kendal Mountain Festival was nothing short of inspiring this past weekend.

From incredible people and brands met, to the captivating films with stories that move mountains.

With so many unforgettable moments absorbed, it felt right to give this week’s Way Out There a touch of Kendal magic.

Here’s our x3 standout recommendations from the Kendal team and where to watch them.

1. A race against time: King of the fells.

June 8th, 1971: Sheep farmer Joss Naylor and rally driver Frank Davies arrive in Fort William, ready to rewrite history. Their challenge? Conquer the iconic Three Peaks—England, Scotland, and Wales’ tallest summits—all while racing the clock. Starting and finishing at sea level, Joss must cover 23 brutal miles of mountain trails with 3,064 meters (10,052 ft) of ascent, while Frank tackles 462 miles of driving in a rally-tuned Ford Capri. The goal? Break the 12-hour barrier—a time so audacious it might stand unbeaten forever. WATCH

2. Brotherhood beyond limits: My Sotos Brother.

For the Nef family, the mountains are more than a passion—they’re a bond. Their youngest, Arsène, lives with Sotos syndrome, a rare genetic condition that makes physical tasks and schoolwork a daily struggle. But his siblings—two older brothers, including Swiss ski team member Tanguy Nef, and their sister—refuse to let it define him. Together, they take Arsène to the Pyrenees, proving that with love and determination, no summit is out of reach. This isn’t just an adventure; it’s a masterclass in resilience and brotherly solidarity. WATCH

3. 100 problems, one day: Font of Font / Bleau dans la Peau.

How do you celebrate 70 years of climbing history? If you’re Seb Berthe and Hugo Parmentier, you go big—really big. Their mission: climb 100 Fontainebleau 7A boulders in just 24 hours. No cars, no shortcuts—just bikes, footpaths, and raw grit. Linking the crags one climb at a time, they’ll push body and mind to the limit, proving that the spirit of adventure doesn’t just endure—it evolves. WATCH

Insight: Why stories can help you move mountains.

1. Forges deeper emotional connections
A well-crafted brand story goes beyond selling, it invites consumers to align with your purpose and values. When people resonate emotionally with your story, they’re not just buying a product; they’re joining a movement. This emotional bond can transform casual buyers into lifelong advocates.

2. Showcases what you stand for
Actions speak louder when backed by a meaningful narrative. A brand story provides the context that turns business values into relatable ideals. It’s not just about what you do, it’s about why it matters. A strong story can bring purpose to life, making your values unforgettable.

3. Gives you an edge over the competition
Your products may be similar to others, but the stories behind them and your brand sets them apart. A winter jacket isn’t just a winter jacket when its material tells a tale of resilience or innovation. Your story doesn’t just differentiate you, it positions you as uniquely memorable in a crowded market.
