Field notes on journeys into expansive spaces

New Horizons

Why be linear when you can be modular?

We love brands that take a new approach to design 🤔

Who use their platforms to seek out innovation 🔬

Who look to push the boundaries of what’s possible 🚀

And that’s exactly what Konundrum is doing ✅

Although their approach is nothing new the German brand is certainly pushing boundaries and seeking out innovation of what’s possible when it comes to technical garment design.

Especially within the jacket category.

Through a modular design approach and the stripping away of seasonal releases they’re creating products unique to, not just them, but also they’re customers.

Their ‘THE GARMENT-EDITION’ system allows customers to be a part of the design process of their jacket.

Through an ever changing array components and add-ons, they can create a product uniquely tailored to their aesthetic and needs.

And no matter how old or new a component or add-on may be, the jackets have been created to allow older parts to sit side-by-side with newer parts.

This approach is MEGA, especially within the technical outerwear world known for a more linear approach to their designs.

We don’t just love their approach to design, but their inclusion of their customer within the design process also. This involvement and the personalisation unique to individual customers, is a real breath of fresh air in a world where sometimes we only given choice of colour.
