Here’s 5 x bits of culture to have caught our eye over the last week
Be sure to add these to your weekend itinerary:
1. Visit: Liverpool’s first street food market, Baltic Market, is turning 6 and they’re throwing a free mega party to celebrate! Running until Sunday the 2nd you can down a few cocktails from their special birthday cocktail menu, feast on South American cuisine from Noso and their pop-up bbq, be in with the chance to win prizes and much, much more. And not to mention there’s a host of amazing street food stalls and market traders to boot on site.
2. Museum: If you happen to be in London this weekend or you’re stuck for something to do. Saturday 1st July sees the opening of the Young V&A, after a 3 year, £13m makeover. Billed as – “the museum where children, young people and families can imagine, play and design.” We’re sure it’s going to be a place packed with creativity, inspiration and imagination we can’t visit.
3. Book: Due for release mid-july available for pre-order (check The Design Museums online shop) Ai Weiwei: Making Sense, is the first book to dive exclusively into Weiwei’s approach to design and collecting, shedding light on the value we accredit to everyday objects. It’s packed with interviews, essays, imagery and in-depth analysis of the multi-disciplinary artist and visionary.
4. Documentary: With the Tour de France due to commence this Saturday we just had to include this one. Netflixs Tour de France: Unchained follows cycling teams as they compete in the famous yet grueling, month-long bike race. A must watch if we do say so ourselves.
5. Amazing Space: If you just so happen to be in Copenhagen over the weekend, be sure to visit Superkilen Park. Situated in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, this MEGA public space is an incredible piece of design packed full of culture that reflects the inhabitants of the area. A must visit if you happen to be there.
